Product Overview

Product Overview

Sagiant Piping Industries manufactures weldolets (butt-weld branch outlets) in carbon steel, low-temperature steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, duplex and nickel alloys to MSS SP-97. A weldolet provides an integrally reinforced 90° butt-weld branch connection from a run pipe, with a contoured base matched to the run OD, in run sizes 1/2" to 60" and branch 1/2" to 24" and schedules to match the line, with EN 10204 3.1/3.2 certificates, PMI, NDT and IGC testing.

Manufacturing Process & Process Notes

Weldolets are closed-die forged with a contoured base (saddle) profiled to the run-pipe OD, giving an integrally reinforced branch connection per MSS SP-97 that eliminates the need for a reinforcing pad. The base is butt or fillet welded to the run pipe and the branch end is bevelled (B16.25) for butt welding the branch pipe.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a weldolet?

A forged branch-outlet fitting with a butt-weld branch end and a contoured base welded to the run pipe — giving a self-reinforced 90° branch without a reinforcing pad.

When should I use a weldolet instead of a tee?

When the branch is smaller than the run and a full reducing tee is unnecessary or unavailable — a weldolet is lighter, cheaper and integrally reinforced.

How is a weldolet sized?

By the run-pipe size, the branch size and the branch schedule — give all three and we supply the correct reinforced weldolet.

What grades do you supply?

A105 carbon, A350 low-temp, A182 alloy/stainless/duplex and B564 nickel alloys.
