Manufacturing Process & Process Notes

How it is made

Strip is slit from cold-rolled coil to the ordered width, then edge-conditioned (slit, deburred or round edge) and supplied in the required temper and finish. Precision strip is cold-rolled and, where specified, temper-rolled or hardened & tempered (spring temper) to a defined hardness. Temper and hardness govern the mechanical properties, so the values shown are representative and the actual temper is confirmed per order.

Mechanical Properties

Mechanical properties (representative grades)

Representative grades – full MTC values on request. Stainless values are ASTM specification minima for the annealed condition; strip in a temper-rolled, cold-worked or spring-temper condition differs and the actual temper / hardness is confirmed per order.

Representative ASTM specification values, room temperature. Thin-gauge and tempered products vary with temper & thickness; full values on the MTC.
