Basic Description

Sagiant Piping Industries manufactures volume-control dampers (VCD) for HVAC supply, return and exhaust ducts — opposed-blade and parallel-blade dampers in galvanized steel, aluminium and stainless steel 304/316 with manual quadrant, gear-and-quadrant or motorised actuation. Dampers are built to AMCA 500-D and SMACNA practice with airfoil or single-skin blades, low-leakage edge and jamb seals and nylon/bronze bearings, supplied with leakage and pressure-drop data and full project documentation.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between opposed and parallel blade dampers?

Opposed-blade dampers give better, more linear flow control for balancing; parallel-blade dampers suit on/off and air-mixing duties.

How are volume-control dampers operated?

By manual locking quadrant, gear-and-quadrant for larger sizes, or electric/pneumatic actuators for BMS-controlled systems.

What leakage class can you provide?

Low-leakage construction with blade-edge and jamb seals tested to AMCA 500-D leakage classes is available on request.

Which materials are used?

Galvanized steel is standard; aluminium, powder-coated CRCA and stainless 304/316 are available for weight, hygiene or corrosion needs.

What sizes are available?

Single sections up to 1200 x 1200 mm, with larger dampers built as linked multi-section assemblies.

Scope of Work

The volume control dampers scope can include project review, fabrication support, dimensional coordination, inspection documentation and dispatch support for industrial installations.
