Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between a full and half coupling?
A full coupling has a socket/thread at both ends to join two pipes; a half coupling has a single socket/thread at one end (the other is plain for welding to a vessel or run) for branch and instrument connections.
What pressure classes are available?
Socket-weld couplings in Class 3000, 6000 and 9000; threaded couplings in Class 2000, 3000 and 6000 per ASME B16.11.
What is a reducing coupling?
A coupling with two different socket/thread sizes used to join pipes of different diameters on small-bore lines.
What grades do you supply?
A105 carbon, A350 low-temp, A182 alloy/stainless/duplex and B564 nickel alloys.
