How it is made
Foil is produced by cold-rolling annealed strip through successive light passes to ultra-thin gauge, with interstage annealing, then finished bright-annealed or matte and slit to width. Thickness uniformity, flatness and surface cleanliness are controlled for the gauge; the temper and finish are set by the application and confirmed per order. At foil gauge the mechanical properties depend strongly on the final temper and thickness, so values are representative for the annealed condition and confirmed on the MTC.
Grades & materials
Representative foil grades, with representative chemistry. Exact grade, temper and finish are confirmed per order; availability is by verified capability at the required gauge.

Frequently asked questions
What thickness range are foils supplied in?
0.01 mm to 0.15 mm, up to 600 mm wide, in bright-annealed or matte finish. The exact gauge, temper and finish are confirmed per order.
Which materials are available as foil?
Stainless steel (304 / 316 / 321), nickel alloys (Inconel 600 / 625, Monel 400) and titanium Grade 2, to ASTM A240, B168 / B127 and B265. Other grades are supplied subject to feasibility at the required gauge.
Do foil properties match sheet?
No. At foil gauge, the temper (annealed or cold-worked) and thickness govern the mechanical properties; the values shown are representative for the annealed condition and the actual temper is confirmed per order.
