How it is made
Bars are hot-rolled or forged from bloom/billet, then optionally cold-finished — cold-drawn, centreless-ground or turned/peeled — for close tolerance (h9/h11) and a bright surface. Stainless is solution annealed and pickled; free-machining 303 has controlled sulphur for machinability; alloy steels are quenched & tempered to the required condition. Because carbon and alloy bar mechanicals depend on the heat-treatment condition and section size, those values are given as typical for the condition and confirmed on the MTC; stainless and duplex bar carry the ASTM A276/A479 specification minima.

Frequently asked questions
Hot-rolled or bright round bar?
Hot-rolled bar suits general fabrication; bright (cold-drawn/ground) bar gives close tolerance (h9/h11) and a smooth surface for direct machining or fitting.
What sizes and grades?
Roughly 5–250 mm diameter in stainless, duplex, alloy and carbon grades, cut to length, with condition and tests per order.
What tolerance can I get?
Bright bar to h9/h11 (or as specified); hot-rolled to the product-standard tolerance.
